As a wedding photographer, I cannot tell you guys how many times I have had couples ask what they should wear to their session, or what looks best in front of the camera. Which is so valid! You want to feel beautiful and be confident the photos will turn out well.
Here are a few tips to help you pick the perfect engagement session outfit.
*DISCLAIMER: all photographers have different styles, this is mainly geared towards what I personally think looks best with my editing/style/posing*
2. Colors: NEUTRALS. Cameras love neutrals. These direct the attention towards the couple, and are flattering. They also go well with any background. This also helps with coordinating between girl and dude, since all neutrals go well together. I’m never against a pop of color, especially if it is something darker like olive or terracotta.
Multiple Outfits: If your photographer allows multiple outfits, bring one casual and one dressy. The casual should be something you could be caught wearing on your day to day, something you feel comfy and beautiful in. The dressier photo should lean more towards a special occasion dress, or something bridal. The groom should wear something that matches the dressy-ness of your outfit.
These few tips should point you in the right direction to feel beautiful and excited at your engagement session.
