Eliza and David’s classy New York wedding lives rent-free in my head. From integrating time-old traditions to taking photos in the bride’s childhood backyard, this day was full of joy, intentionality, and love for each other and their family.
The day began with Eliza and her bridesmaids getting ready in her childhood home. Eliza chose to have her bridesmaids dressed in white as well to symbolize that they are all a bride to God. This was such an endearing and intentional decision, and the results were beautiful. Each bridesmaid also had one white rose. Eliza’s dress was a timeless a-line cut with lovely bows.
David and Eliza celebrated their wedding mass at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church. Celebrating the sacrament of marriage with my couples is something that never gets old. The minute David saw Eliza, he was overcome with emotion. Tears flooded his eyes as he saw his soon-to-be bride. The wedding mass was beautiful.
Also- can we take a moment for this confetti exit? Obsessed.
Afterwards, we took advantage of the vibrant fall colors, and celebrated with bridal party photos. The white dresses contrasted the fall leaves perfectly.
Eliza and David and I then headed to her childhood backyard to take photos. It was literally the perfect backdrop for their photos. Rolling fields accompanied by trees bursting with reds, yellows, and oranges. The two of them were so naturally excited and in love, and the photos emanated that.
The reception was a candlelit tent, timelessly decorated. As the night drew on, Eliza and David shared dances with family and friends and finished the night with a sparkler exit.
Eliza and David are such a couple of faith and intentionality. It was clear that they were ready to enter into a sacrament of serving each other and the Lord. Their kindness was so clear as they interacted with friends, staff, and even me. On our drive over to the reception, they took time to ask me questions about myself and my life, which completely took me aback. Their kindness towards all was so prominent, and their day emanated vibes of sweet love and joy.
