Calling all Catholic brides and grooms!!
So you just got engaged- and you’re pumped about getting married. The sacrament of marriage is so beautiful, and so exciting. While all the details of planning are so so important, recieving the sacrament of marriage in the Catholic mass is literally what your whole day is celebrating.
Finding a photographer is so important, and I know that there are so many amazing photographers out here- so this is just my opinion!
When looking for a photographer, look for a Catholic photographer. This may sound like a given, but you would be surprised how many times I have heard friends talk about this being a HUGE regret. The mass is complicated to an outside eye, and without knowing the trueness of the sacrament of marriage and the Eucharist, it is so difficult to capture all the holiest moments of the mass.
Yes, this definitely cuts out some photographers, but as a Catholic wedding photographer, I have learned that the Mass is difficult for many photographers to completely follow/ get the photos that are unique to a Catholic. There are so many sacred moments in a mass, such as the Consecration, or the Presentation of the Gifts.
Additionally, there are different rules in a Catholic mass, that invite the photographer to be reverent to the sacrament, as Christ is present. Catholic photographers know and understand what is happening at all points during the mass, so they can capture these moments best, and in the most reverent way possible.
