Picture this: you are getting married in December. Against all hopes and prayers, it is snowing HARD on your wedding day, and temperatures are freezing outside. The outdoor photo locations you had been hoping for may not be an option anymore- or at least not an option for all of the photos (frostbite ya know?). What the heck do you do?
Luckily, there are plenty of indoor photo options, no matter where you live, that are sure to be a great alternative to outdoors. In this blog, we will go through five great indoor photo options for bridal parties and couples photos.
Hi! I’m Ruthie. I am a Nebraska wedding photographer, who is all about capturing candid joy between couples and iced caramel lattes. To chat more, send me an inquiry via my contact page.
Please note! Any of these locations require to be contacted ahead of time, or at least to look up their photography policy online. Some locations may even charge a fee for photography. This differs by location.
2. Government Buildings: Government buildings may not be your first instinct for a cute photo location. However, they are often BEAUTIFUL. Pictured below is a government building in Indiana. The timeless winding staircase and ceiling art was divine.
3. Indoor Garden: This is for the boho and outdoorsy bride, who is into bright colors. Indoor gardens are perfect if you’re looking for a fall/spring vibe to your photos in the freezing winter. These gardens are bursting with beautiful florals and plants.
4. Studio: While studios do cost money, they are such a simple way to ensure privacy for photos, and perfect lighting. The simplistic backgrounds draw attention to the beauty of your love, and the privacy helps you feel comfy in your photos.
5. Library: City libraries surprise me every time. Google libraries in your area and check out the interior photos. In older libraries, the indoor architecture boasts plenty of space for a full bridal party, and the vintage vibes are perfect for vibes looking for a filmy aesthetic.
While there are so many indoor locations that may speak to you, these are five that I have had the most luck with. A quick Google search of any of these locations near you will surely help you find an alternative to the freezing outdoors, and your bridal party will thank you forever.
